Lamentations 2:16-17
16 a All your enemiesrail against you;
they hiss, they gnash their teeth,
they cry: “We b have swallowed her!
Ah, this is the day we longed for;
now we have it; c we see it!”
17 The Lord has done what he purposed;
he has carried out d his word,
which he commanded e long ago;
f he has thrown down g without pity;
h he has made the enemy rejoice over you
and exalted the i might of your foes.
