Daniel 1:4-7

youths without a blemish, of good appearance and b skillful in all wisdom, endowed with knowledge, understanding learning, and competent to stand in the king’s palace, and to c teach them the literature and language of the d Chaldeans. The king assigned them a daily portion of e the food that the king ate, and of f the wine that he drank. They were to be educated for g three years, and at the end of that time they were to h stand before the king. Among these were i Daniel, j Hananiah, k Mishael, and l Azariah of the tribe of Judah. And m the chief of the eunuchs n gave them names: o Daniel he called Belteshazzar, Hananiah he called Shadrach, Mishael he called Meshach, and Azariah he called Abednego.
